How we look after your personal information.
Last updated: 24 June 2026
Cicada Services ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We are the "data controller" for the information you provide through this website.
Cicada Services provides commissioning consultancy for children's social care. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at marie.tucker@cicadaservices.co.uk.
We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you submit the booking / consultation form, this includes:
We do not collect any special category (sensitive) data through this website, and we ask that you do not include such information in your enquiry message.
We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry and to arrange and provide the consultation you have requested. Our lawful basis for this is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
Your enquiry is stored securely on our website hosting and is sent to us by email so we can respond. To do this we use the following service providers ("processors"), who only process your data on our instructions:
We do not transfer your data outside the UK / European Economic Area except where these providers do so under appropriate safeguards.
We keep your enquiry only for as long as necessary to deal with it and for our legitimate business records — normally no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we agree to work together, in which case relevant records are kept for the duration of that work and a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
This website uses a single, strictly necessary cookie that keeps the site secure and the booking form working. We do not use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required.
So we can understand how the website is used, we keep a simple, privacy-friendly count of page visits on our own hosting. This does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. We do not store your IP address or any information that identifies you — only an anonymised daily token (used to estimate visitor numbers), the pages viewed, the general type of device, and an approximate country, which is determined on our own server using a local lookup so no data is shared with any analytics company.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict our use of it. To exercise any of these rights, email marie.tucker@cicadaservices.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
